High School Retreat—Solace

“So I turned, and considered all the oppressions that are wrought under the sun: and behold the tears of such as were oppressed, and they had no comforter: and on the side of their oppressors there was power, but they had no solace.”

Ecclesiastes 4:1 (Geneva Bible, 1599)

The world can feel heavy, and Ecclesiastes 4:1 names that reality honestly: there is real hurt, real struggle, and so many people searching for comfort but finding none. Solace is a retreat designed to step directly into that truth and guide students toward the only One who offers lasting peace.

Throughout the weekend, we want to slow down, breathe, and learn what it means to bring our pain, our pressure, and our unanswered questions into the presence of God. Jesus invites the weary to come to Him, and in Him we discover a comfort that the world cannot give and cannot take away.

During our time together, we’ll explore how God meets us with compassion, how His people can support one another, and how His Spirit brings rest to the restless. Our hope is that every student leaves knowing this: even in a world full of noise and burden, there is a place of refuge—and God Himself is our solace.

We are excited to be at Solid Rock Camps this year, located in Eastland, Texas, about an hour from Abilene. Our outdoor activities will include:

The retreat will cost $150 per person for those registering before March 11, increasing to $165 for those who sign up between March 12-16. Please note the absolute last day to sign up is March 16. Unfortunately, we won't be able to accept sign-ups past this day because of space and informing Solid Rock Camps of those attending.

Parents will drop students off at Southern Hills on Friday, March 27, between 5:00-5:30 p.m. Please ensure your students eat dinner before arriving. Pick up time on Sunday, March 29, will be at noon. Students will be fed breakfast and given snacks when we are on the road.
